Dr. Detlefsen has lived in Dakota County since 1966. He is a graduate of Burnsville High School and Gustavus Adolphus. He received his Medical Doctorate Degree from the University of Minnesota Medical School and completed a three year Family Practice Residency training program at the University of Minnesota. He is Board Certified by the American Academy of Family Practice and is a member of the Minnesota Medical Association. His hospital staff affiliations include Fairview Ridges Hospital, where he has served as chairman of the Family Practice Department, United Hospital and St. Paul Children's Hospital. Dr. Detlefsen has been practicing as a solo practice family physician at Rosemount Family Physicians since opening in 1984.
Dr. Detlefsen's practice has been at the cutting-edge of medicine for 24 years and he opened Expressions MD in 2007 as a response to his patients asking for his expert advice on aesthetic laser and injectable treatments. He and his staff recognize the current demand for noninvasive skin and body treatments.
Dr. Detlefsen is constantly researching and training with experts in the field of aesthetic medicine from all over the country, acquiring multiple certifications in many areas of aesthetic medicine including laser safety and procedures, Botox, injectable fillers, cellulite treatment and PureLipo bodysculpting.
